Biography

John Crowe (born in 1968), is a contemporary American painter and object maker originally from Atlanta, Georgia. After living and working in New York City, Miami, Denver and San Francisco, he now lives in rural Georgia.

Presently, Crowe is creating a series of figurative oil paintings depicting iconography coaxed from the subconscious; building on his own personal lexicon of reoccurring themes. He synthesizes those motifs into composites which reference the 18th century disruption in the scientific study of Animals, Vegetables and Minerals and the enigma surrounding their unique interrelation.
